These days, where can you still find a bowl of Laksa at only S$2.50? Well, okay, other than the S$2 one at Sungei Road which you can read all about it here. 928 Yishun Laksa is a humble stall that has been operating for 19 years with a very small shop space, but that didn’t deter anyone from joining the snaking queueing for this bowl of Laksa made with simple, earthy ingredients.

Taste of Thailand / Bei Sheng Seafood is my favourite place to dine at while in Yishun because I practically grew up with this Thai-style Chinese Zi Char restaurant, which is also a favourite among many students and the older generations living there. Many people flock to the restaurant for their signature dishes which you will never fail to find on every table – Fried Squid, Fried Fish and Tom Yam Seafood Soup.

Who hasn’t heard of Nakhon Kitchen? We were elated when we found out that the popular Thai restaurant opened up another chain here in Yishun, and it has since garnered a steady crowd daily for lunch and dinner. When we think of good and affordable Thai cuisine, we’ll always think of Nakhon Kitchen.

Possibly one of the very few places which you can find traces of traditional Heng Hua cuisine. This zi-char stall is very particular about the freshness of their ingredients to as to retain their authenticity and quality control. Many people love their rich and flavourful Heng Hua Style Fried Bee Hoon!

If you take the bus past Chong Pang City, you will be greeted by a snaking queue emerging from a particular hawker stall – none other than Hup Lee Fried Bee Hoon. Many workers, NSFs and students love dabao-ing a packet of their signature fried bee hoon – sufficiently greased so that it is not too oily, with additional top-ups of their fried chicken wings and otah! A major plus point is that it is open 24hours!
