Chey Sua Carrot Cake
Run by two sisters, this is probably one of the crispiest carrot cake in Singapore. Only the white version is available here. The egg is panfried until crispy on one side while the carrot cake below it remains fluffy and soft. This is definitely one of the most unique and best carrot cake in Toa Payoh.

Tian Tian Lai (Come Daily) Fried Hokkien Prawn Mee
Their hokkien mee is always one of the top five recommended stalls among food blogs and websites. The hokkien mee is very moist and gooey, with a strong crustacean taste taste. The stall owner is also very generous with the pork lard and pork belly pieces so don’t expect this to be kind to your waistline.

Hup Chong Hakka Yong Tau Foo
Every item is handmade from scratch. Thee bestselling items are their ngoh hiang, which takes three hours to prepare and fry and the meatballs. Be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes if you go during lunch hours.

Lee Fun Nam Kee Chicken Rice and Restaurant

Kim Keat Hokkien Mee
Owned by an ex-convict who turned over a new leaf, this hokkien mee has a twist to it–it’s served in a claypot. The noodles come with deep fried pork belly, clams, squid and prawns and is very falvourful.

Hougang 6 Miles Famous Muah Chee
The stall offers two types of muah chee: peanut and sesame. Unlike other places, the dough is pulled by hand instead of cut by scissors. The texture of the muah chee is also slightly to the softer side.
