So you want to be a successful person in life but don’t know where to start? Try incorporating some of these good habits into your daily life and you will soon find that you are well on your way to becoming a better and more productive person. It doesn’t even take up much of your time, each habit only needs about five minutes for you to complete it.

Make your bed everyday
Many people leave their bed just at it is every morning when they wake up, with the reasoning that they will be using it again at night so there is no need to make it tidy. However, by completing this small, simple task will give you a sense of satisfaction and thereby starting your day right. When you come home after a draining day at work, your bed will look cozy and welcoming, perfect for drifting off into dreamland.

Take care of your pearly whites
I’m sure your dentist has stressed to you the importance of brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing at least once daily until they were blue in the face but how many of us actually follows their advice? Teeth and gums that are in the pink of health minimizes the risk of diabetes, cancer, dementia and many others. Besides, a set of healthy teeth gives you a great confidence boost when you are smiling.

Writing
Many people have a daily to-do list that they feel they have to complete before declaring the day a success. Instead of stressing yourself out with a long list, write down the task that is the most urgent and important. Complete it the first chance you get so that you can feel good and motivated to cross off other items in your list.

Take a break
While it’s important to work hard to achieve success, keep in mind that your mind and body needs to recharge itself too. Take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to meditate and clear your mind. This is also a good time to be grateful for what life has given you so far. Meditation also increases serotonin production and lowers blood pressure.

Get out of your comfort zone
We get so stuck in our comfort zone that we often miss many new opportunities in our lives. To keep moving forward, it is important to always try new things. For example, challenge yourself to do something new or something that will take you out of your comfort zone like starting a conversation with a new person or sharing your opinion in a meeting.

Dress to impress
You don’t have to go over the top, instead, add a little personal touch to your usual work attire. You can add a blazer or structured jacket to your work casual clothes which will make you stand out, yet not completely being the total odd man out.

Learn how to say No
If you are a natural people pleaser, you may find that people are always seeking your help on many issues, sometimes even dumping the whole task on you. While it’s to be needed and liked, sometimes you just need to refuse to help so that you can put the time into something much more important, your own personal goals.

Learn something new from podcasts
If you don’t like to read or would like to keep your brain active when you are doing those mind-numbing tasks, try listening to a short podcast. There are many types of podcasts out there so you are bound to find one that will suit you.

Keeping fit
Our bodies are not getting any younger, and we need a fit and healthy body as we grow older so that we can fully enjoy the successful life we are building. Switch around a few different exercise routines to keep it fresh or even just walking up the stairs at work helps too.

Get rid of clutter
Look around you now. How much of the things lying around your workplace or house is really useful? Clear away those clutter and arrange the remaining stuff neatly. Pick up as you go along and put back each item in its place once you are done. A clean house or space helps you focus and have a clearer mind too.
