What would Gen X say about Gen Y?

Spoilt?

Picky?

Privileged?

Okay, scratch that.

What would Gen Y say about Gen Z?

Selfish?

Self-entitled?

The preceding generation will always feel the need to give their two cents to the younger generation even if it is unsolicited, that’s what makes us humans/Singaporeans.

So, if you think Gen Z is like Gen Y but on steroids, you are probably right—lol, I am kidding.

This 14-year old boy who is the unsung hero of this article will change your mind.

What happened

We all know how fast-food establishments can be packed during the weekends and that is what Stomper Josephine experienced on Jan 20 at the McDonald’s outlet at Block 448, Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.

She came with her parents to get some good old ice-cream.

To her surprise, she was greeted by the said 14-year-old-boy who happened to be the Guest Experience Leader at the outlet.

He helped her parents to get a seat as one of them is in a wheelchair.

On top of that, he offered to take their order and collect on their behalf, making the parents’ life easier.

Josephine said: “Once we started eating, he came back again and asked if he could give water to my parents who may be thirsty.”

“He is only 14 years old! He is very proactive and greets customers and offer kids mini ice cream cones,” added Josephine

He was also kind enough to park her shopping trolley in a corner so that it won’t cause any hindrance to other diners.

Well, who would have thought that a 14-year-old can be thoughtful?

If I am being completely honest, I doubt I would go the extra mile if I were in his shoes.

Thoughts

So, if there is one thing we can learn from this Gen Y is that we should always be kind.

My kindness is still a work in progress if you were wondering.

Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
