Okay, the first question I got to ask is this: are you still running on a 12gb data plan?
And if you are, have you been switching phones or are you still using your old but sturdy mobile phone?
If you’ve not changed your phones in years, then you got to know this: there’s a chance you might not be able to use WhatsApp on your device come 2017.
WhatsApp stopping services for several operating systems end 2016
WhatsApp announced in a blog post earlier this year that they will stop support for older operating systems as they did not have the capability to support the expansion of the app features in the future.
If you happen to hold on to devices still running on these operating systems, it might be time to either change to a newer smartphone or get used to texting again.
- Android 2.2 Froyo and older (Phones launched before 2009)
- iOS 6 and older (iPhone 3GS)
- Windows Phone 7 and older
But that’s not all.
Services for several Operating System to end June 2017
If you’re running on Blackberry OS, BlackBerry 10 OS, Nokia S40, and Nokia Symbian S60, note that WhatsApp will be supporting these devices till the end of June 2017.
Are you, or anyone you know, running on a device that’s affected by the ending of support? Or maybe your mom and dad. Better let them before you lose contact with them because who send SMS nowadays?
