Fact – the effects of alcohol are accelerated at a higher altitude. It’s true. A sip of that long island tea whilst among the stars should almost 100% of the time take you to an intoxicated cloud nine (we’re not advocating for alcoholism, please drink responsibly). Also, a perfect vantage point for sunrise and sunset, the rooftop bar of any hotel is always an experience that is a notch higher than the usual! In collaboration with Booking.com, we’ve rounded up notable hotels with spectacular rooftop bars around Asia to visit, should you have a getaway in these cities.
MK Premier Boutique Hotel, Vietnam
This hotel might not be a vertical giant like the sky bars in Singapore, but the view it boasts of certainly doesn’t pale in comparison to the bigger names out there. The MK Premier Boutique Hotel is based in Hanoi’s old quarter, an area that has retained its essence since its existence from Vietnam’s imperial times. The top of the boutique hotel is essentially a rooftop bar that has an attached restaurant, all al alfresco style. Overlooking The Old City Gate and Dong Xuan Market, it has a 360 view of the city surrounding it.
Anantara Sathorn Bangkok Hotel, Thailand
With an infinity pool right by the city fringe, your view of Thailand’s very own hustle and bustle cannot get any more comfortable and luxurious at Anantara Sathorn Bangkok Hotel. A boozy evening with the stars while towering over the sparkling city lights is just one of the many things to do at this hotel. Anantara Sathorn Bangkok Hotel, Thailand isn’t just a hotel for sleeping in, enjoy the multitude of amenities throughout the hotel that includes a tennis court, a fitness centre, heated pool and many more.
Artotel Sanur, Indonesia
The Artotel Sanur is a mere 2 minutes walk from Sanur Beach. Though there isn’t a city view, this hotel feels like a hideout peaking out of a forested cum village-shore district in Bali. Surrounded by vegetations that resemble a vast field of plantation and glimpse of the glistening blue sea, its apt location of being near the Sanur Beach is why this hotel is a prime choice when booking a place in that region. It is never truly a vacation until you feel at one with your surrounding innit?
AMASS Hotel Insadong, South Korea
Stay in one of the upper tiers and you might just be able to peer into the palace gardens across the street, but this isn’t why we’re talking about this hotel are we. It looks as though the rooftop of this hotel is filled with gazebos with accents of carnival carousels illuminating the night. Talk about atmosphere, there’s just something about being in the midst of the buzz of yet at the same time secluded from it all, witnessing the passing of time from a snuggly spot.
