What the hell is the world coming to? A Chinese man was arrested after bringing his pregnant “wife” to a Xuzhou City Central Hospital, in East China’s Jiangsu Province for a medical checkup. According to reports, he lied that the 3-months-old pregnant girl was 20 years-old when she was only 12. The man was seen with a 47-year-old woman, who claimed that she was the girl’s mother-in-law.

When doctors tried to get answers from the girl, she couldn’t respond as she did not speak Mandarin. She also did not have any Chinese ID or any form of identification with her. When the staff grew suspicious about the discrepancies in age, they questioned the man about her true age, only to be shot off by the man.

“I took her here to be examined – just do your job. Stop asking so many questions.”

The police are still investigating the matter but suspect that the girl might be a foreign national from Southeast Asia.

The legal age of marriage in China is 20 for women and 22 for men. However, some families in the rural parts of the country allow their children to get married as young as 13-years-old, and simply register their marriage at the legal age years later.

It’s either the pea-brained man thinks the hospital is stupid enough to believe him, or that they are blind enough to not see that the girl is still underaged. It’s people like this 40-year-old man who make us lose complete faith in humanity.
