Many people thought that the original Sembawang White Beehoon is at Sembawang Road, below a shophouse: yeah, they’re right, but do you know there’s also an air-conditioned outlet in Sun Plaza?
The white beehoon there tastes almost similar to the one at Sembawang Road, and the best part is that it’s air-conditioned, so even if you have to queue, you’re waiting inside a shopping mall. Of course, it’s pricier, but for that comfort, it’s like worth the price.

You can’t really go wrong with Old Street Bak Kut Teh (except the price), with its numerous chains and its high-tech method to place your order.
The outlet in Sun Plaza is often full, not because it’s at a good location (level 1) but because it’s one of the key places that Sembawang-ers makan there. The soup isn’t too strong and the braised pork rice is a must-order for newcomers–a mild version of the Taiwan version with enough meat.
Just try it once, and you’ll go back often; either to this outlet or other outlets scattered around Singapore.

KFC A.M.
I’m not trying to be funny when I insert KFC here; KFC A.M. is KFC’s breakfast, and it’s not common in KFC outlets on a weekday, especially those that have KFC Coffee.
In other words, catching a KFC A.M. outlet during weekdays is like catching Snorlax, so you’ll better treasure it. But how’s the food? I’ve got to admit that every fast-food breakfast tastes the same to me, but KFC A.M. has something others don’t have: porridge. Always innovative, Nine Fresh is a fresh take (pun intended, sorry!) on Taiwanese desserts after you’re bored with Blackballs’ desserts and their crowd. The chain comes with several specials, like Durian Yin-Yang and Royal Ai-Yu Jelly.
