It’s late at night and you’re hungry. What is the number one supper food that immediately pops to mind? For us, the answer is prata.

Over the years, Indian-Muslim stores have been catching up with local food trends and flipping out new flavours of their own. Here are eight of the strangest prata flavours that we’ve discovered in Singapore.

Eggs Benedict Prata

Also known as Plaster Blaster, this East meets West prata is topped with turkey ham, a poached egg and drizzled with Indian hollandaise sauce. You can forget about the other eggs benedicts out there and just eat this.

This is one power prata. It combines two of Singaporeans’ favourite food: prata and durian. The sweet and gooey durian surprisingly complements the savoury taste of the prata.

Ice Cream Prata

The Indian version of ice cream waffles. As strange as it may sound, warm crispy prata filled with cold ice cream is simply shiok.

This heavenly prata is filled with chicken luncheon meat, chicken floss, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise and egg. Not recommended if you’re watching your waistline. But then again, if you’re going to eat prata, you shouldn’t even be concerned about that in the first place.
