Ah, eating– the favourite past-time of most Singaporeans. What makes eating even better? Eating at night with friends, of course! Despite all the health warnings about how “you’ll get fat if you eat at night”, good food is worth suffering for, yeah?

Some favourite supper haunts among Singaporeans include Swee Choon Dim Sum (in Jalan Besar, open from 6pm-6am), The Ramen Stall (in Bugis, halal, open from 5pm-6am) and Spize (River Valley/Bedok, open from 6pm-6am). However, if you look closely, most of these popular supper places are located in the central and east Singapore.

How about the West? Westies need their supper fix too!

ENAQ Restaurant

This is the best prata place in the West. Most people get quite defensive over their “favourite prata place”, so I won’t claim that this is the best in Singapore, even though it is. The prata here is crisp, tasty and “just nice”. Expect long queues here during peak hours. The milo dinosaur here is pretty unique too, as it comes with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles.

Here, you can also find the drinks seller, who is from China, speaking pretty decent Tamil. Some students from NUS and NTU travel here to grab their prata fix as well.

Location: 303 Jurong East St 32 (open from 6am-1130pm)

Niqqi’s Cheese Prata Shop

Another really good supper place also happens to be a prata shop. You will often find NUS students getting their midnight prata fix here too.

Location: 18 Clementi Road (open 24 hours)

“Ah Lian” Bee Hoon

Moving away from prata, we have also found another great supper place! Located in a coffeeshop next to Pioneer MRT,  the stall that sells fried bee hoon with a large assortment of sides, including fried chicken wings, stir-fried beans, chicken nuggets, sausages and fishcakes is well-known. This is also a favourite go-to supper place among students from Pulau NTU.

Boon Lay Power Nasi Lemak

If you’re a true-blue westie, you will definitely know of them. Lauded all across the island as one of the top few nasi lemaks in Singapore, we’re fans of their rice, chicken wings and the chilli. People from other parts of the country has been known to drive down just to try them out!

Location: Blk 221B Boon Lay Place, #01-106, Singapore 642221
(Mon: 6pm to 4am Tue to Sun: 6am to 3pm, 6pm to 4am)

S11 Eating House beside Nanyang Community Club

Come here in the evening for the crab and the tze char, and come here at night for the western stall’s cheese fries and the oyster omelette! This place is just a few bus stops away from NTU so it’ll be noisy as hell.

Location: Blk 964 Jurong West St 91 Singapore 640964
