Confirmed: Pokémon GO Trading, PokéStop Spin Limit & Other New Features Coming

When the recent Pokémon GO update came, every Pokémon GO fan was disappointed—not only were there no trading and new Pokémon, they included a ridiculously silly feature: the appraisal system by the team leaders. It became a joke when people started to rename their Pokémon just to make the leaders say the silliest things.

But in the update lies some codes that might just make some hardcore players go, “FINALLY.”

A few redditors (here and here) analysed the codes and found some interesting new stuff. They might not be available yet, but for them to be in the codes of the game shows that it’s either in the works, or it could be out in the next update.

Here’re some of the most interesting ones.

Limit to the number of spins a Pokestop could be spun
Thinking of camping in an area and spinning the Pokestop every five minutes? You might not be able to do so soon: a new code of EXCEEDED_DAILY_LIMIT might limit your spin in a Pokestop to a certain number per day. They sure know how to make players walk.

Trading
A most-requested feature that has already been in the works, four codes pertaining to trading were found: They’re Trade_search, Trade_offer, Trade_response and Trade_result. They seem to imply that players could search for Pokémon and trade with them, make an offer, give a response and see the results of the trade. Neat.

Buddy Pokémon
This is something new to players yet familiar to Pokémon fans: remember how Pikachu is Ash’s best buddy in the animated series? Yeah, it seems to imply that you could assign a buddy Pokémon to your trainer, just like Pikachu to Ash. The codes found were km_buddy_distance, BUDDY_MEDIUM, BUDDY_SHOULDER, BUDDY_BIG, BUDDY_FLYING and buddy_candy_awarded: they don’t make lots of sense, but let’s wait and see.

New types of incense
Bored of your incense luring even more Rattata and Pidgey? Fret no more: two new incenses were found in the codes, namely Item_incense_cool  and Item_incense_floral. People have speculated that they’ll attract water-based Pokémon for the cool incense and grass-based Pokémon for the floral incense. Giving a middle finger to Rattata and Pidgey, indeed!

The coolest of all: legendary Pokémon
They’re finally here: the legendary Pokémon, comprising Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Mew and the genetically enhanced Mewtwo, might just be out soon. The code is a simple activity_catch_legend_pokemon, which some have speculated that they’re only available in a certain activity: i.e., an event, as widely believed by many.

Here’s the thing: Pokémon GO better update this soon, simply because it seems to be losing its grip on players recently.
