Don’t Play Ban Luck with These People on CNY 18, If Not You’ll Lose Even Your Pants

There’s something brewing in the horizon, and it might not be pleasant.

I’m talking, of course, about Blackjack, the unofficial CNY customary game that everyone indulges in on a yearly basis. Incidentally, it’s also known as ban-nag amongst the Canto, and ban luck in the Hokkien circle.

But why unpleasant, exactly? Well…

While Blackjack is undoubtedly a fun activity to bond with your long-lost relatives over, it could also become a hi-stake, hi-risk kind of game where everyone’s just baying for each other’s blood.

As such, you might just find yourself ending up like this guy.

Ouch.

Thankfully, there’s a way to avoid ending your CNY on such a sour and bitter note, and it’s not by ingesting more of those sweet pineapple tarts. Rather, it’s through something much more subtle:

Zodiac signs.

Don’t play with these people

According to Elitedaily, three star signs will be having the best year of their careers in 2018. And it stands as a no-brainer that you should avoid these star-glazed individuals at all costs.

Aries (21 March – 19 April)

Apparently, Aries individuals are all set for a huge two years ahead, whether it’s business or what they’re “being seen for in the public eye”.

Additionally, 2018’s the year where Aries will start making a change, and turn that dream into a reality.

So yeah, you don’t really want to play Ban Luck with Aries this year.

Heck, next year too.

Nothing’s scarier than someone’s who all ready to make a change. Nothing. 

Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)

According to Elitedaily, Saturn just entered Sagittarius’ second house of earned income. Which in layman terms, doesn’t exactly spell well for the rest of us.

Sagittarius individuals are projected to gain a talent for making money on the side, and they’ll apparently get so good at utilising their resources that they gain “a new sense of financial freedom by simply making use of what you (they) have.”

Get the drift yet, guys?

This is one Zodiac sign you don’t wanna play Blackjack with. At least for 2018!

Pisces (February 19 – March 20)

Arguably the least threatening out of the three, and yet still potent enough to knock your socks off, Pisces individuals are expected to succeed by the second quarter of the year.

However, the start of the year might be a little slow for them.

Which means yes, they might not reach their full potential when CNY comes around.

But if I were you, I wouldn’t take the risk. After all… there are early bloomers for a reason.

And on the other end of the spectrum, we have the ones you confirm plus chop must play with.

Taurus (April 21 – May 20)

With February slated to be its worst month, Taurus is expected to “make it or break it”.

On 15 Feb, the partial solar eclipse in Aquarius will light up Taurus’ 10th house of career, which means “serious business”. This could cause friction between you and your loved ones, colleagues and maybe even your boss.

So yeah, this is one star sign you would want to pit your wits against this CNY.

Although you’ll be well-advised not to cross the line, unless you want to ignite that particular spark of friction.

Cancer (June 22 – July 22)

Perhaps the worst bunch of the lot, Cancer individuals

Apparently, the Aquarian partial solar eclipse will arrive in Cancer’s 8th house, which is a pretty complex one. For one, it governs finance and investment, and yet at the same time governs death and transformation as well. Not the best combination you would want for a round of Ban Luck, if you catch my drift.

Additionally, Cancer individuals are advised to practice some frugality, before they experience a “serious blow to their(your) bank account(s)”.

But if there’s any consolation, they are expected to break their lazy habits eventually, and embrace prosperity once again. It’s just that… it’s not happening this Feb, man.

So you know what to do. If the banker’s a Cancer…

Choose your opponents wisely

Blackjack’s a tough game, and unless you want to walk home in your slippers and shorts, you’ll be well-advised to pick your opponents properly. See a Sagittarius as your banker? Time to zao, bro.

That being said, you’re also advised not to pay too much heed to the star signs. Like I said earlier on…

Blackjack is undoubtedly a fun activity to bond with your long-lost relatives over.

And seeing how you indulge in it just one time a year…

I think it’s fine to lose a bit la hor. 🙂

(But of course, a Cancer banker will still be the best la)
