Don’t Say Bojio: $4.90 Pasta in 49 Seats from 18 June to 24 June

The F&B world in Singapore is very different from what it used to be: in the past, hawkers were old, grumpy uncles who would scold you if you customize your order like it’s cai png when it’s fishball noodles, malls were filled with shops that sell CDs and VCDs instead of countless F&B outlets and western foods were always associated with high-SES prices.

Having a chicken chop in an air-conditioned place at an affordable price exists only in two places: in our dreams and in food courts.

But it’s all different now. With an influx of wallet-friendly places like Astons or Saizeriya, we can have high-SES food with low-SES prices.

Now, what if you can have them at an even lower price?

Like, $4.90 for a plate of pasta?

Well, why not, because 49 Seats is offering just that.

Not permanently, but hey, businesses still need to make money one, okay?

To celebrate their 49,000 Likes in Facebook and their first anniversary at Centrepoint, 49 Seats, a casual dining place located in Centrepoint (ah bo then), is offering $4.90 pasta from 18 June 2018 to 24 June 2018, and $7.90 pasta from 25 June 2018 to 30 June 2018.

Originally, a pasta would cost more than $10, so you’ve saving more than 50%.

And lest you’re not aware, they’ve no service charge, so you’re really saving more than 50%.

The affordable restaurant used to have 49 seats in their very first outlet in Chinatown. Back then, they had two other outlets in Orchard and Bugis, and in 2017, they restructured and opened their flagship restaurant in The Centrepoint with raving reviews.

I mean, look at their Google reviews.

I’ve always like reviews that stay between 4 to 4.5, because that’s authentic: a business with reviews of just 5 stars out of 5 stars would awaken the Sherlock Holmes in me.

But of course lah, don’t take my word for it. Just Google and you’ll see happy food bloggers singing praises of their food (obviously I’m still too poor to makan there).

Too bad our office is at Bukit Batok. If our fat boss has been more competent and earn more money to have an office in Orchard instead if BB, I would’ve rushed over immediately after work on 18 June 2018 to enjoy the discounts.
