Singapore might be a hive of fast-paced activities but there’s a part of Singapore that’s not as stressful.

In fact, you’ll probably call it the opposite of stressful.

Clean beaches, water games and plenty of volleyball babes, Sentosa is one of the few places in Singapore where you can truly unwind.

Plus, Jay Chou visited it. If it’s a place worthy of an international superstar, it’s definitely worthy for us lowly mortals.

Not convinced yet? Don’t worry, we have not one, not three but two more reasons for you to visit Sentosa this September.

First, Free Entry To Sentosa For S’poreans & PR

From 1-16 Sep 2018, Singapore residents can enter Sentosa for free. This includes if you’re driving a Singapore-registered car, walking or entering via the monorail.

In fact, if you take bus service 123 onto the idyllic island, admission fees will be waived too.

Unfortunately, the method of free entry doesn’t include the cable car.

Another reason why you should visit Sentosa during this period

Now, on to the meaty details.

Most locals avoid going to Sentosa because everything is expensive there. I know, my first date with my girlfriend is at Sentosa, I had to bring food along and convince her I cooked it myself.

Yup, a thin line between romanticism and cheapskaticism.

But if you’re a Marvel: Avengers fan, then you’re not going to want to miss this.

At Siloso Beach, there will be a sand sculpture exhibition featuring 15 larger-than-life sand sculptures of popular Marvel Super Heroes.

I’m talking about feasting your eyes on the gigantic sand sculptures of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk (except brown this time, not green) and more.

Plus another 14 in the Sentosa International Sand Sculpting Championship.

And that isn’t convincing enough, you can watch the magic of creation with your own eyes. Renowned sand sculptors will be working on their competition pieces from 1 to 3 Sep.

And the best part? The exhibition is free for everybody.

Where: 750 metres away from Beach Station down Siloso Beach

By the way, the Sentosa Sandstation: Marvel Edition might be able to provide loads of Instagram-worthy shots, but it might not entertain you the entire day.

Which is okay because there’s plenty of things to be done on the island.

From the famous Universal Studio Singapore to the Luge ride, there are plenty to be done on the island.
