If there’s one thing Malaysians and Singaporeans can agree on, it’s that roti prata is the food of gods.

We know them as prata, our Malaysian friends know them as roti canai. But they essentially mean the same thing.

And no floods, lack of WIFI or obesity will ever stop us from eating these beautiful pieces of dough.

Just ask my boss, he’s been eating prata every single morning. And he’s “on a diet”. Hah!

When it comes to prata in Singapore, they can be found everywhere.

But when it comes to the super famous ones, there is a handful that, no matter how far, you’ll travel to their shops just to eat.

When it comes to prata with personality, you’d definitely have to try Mr and Mrs Mohgan at least once in your life.

Serving up their famous crispy pratas, they’ve captured the hearts of Singaporeans who travelled from the west, north, south and east to their humble stall at Crane Road.

Until a while ago, that is.

The old couple looked like they’re ready to retire from the prata game in Singapore and start enjoying their golden years when they sold their old prata stall at Crane Road.

In fact, if you were to pop up at the coffee shop they used to be at, you’d see that there’s another prata stall. But. It’s not them.

But Guess Who’s Back?

Mr & Mrs Mohgan are back in business at Tin Yeang Restaurant, 300 Joo Chiat Road, a kopitiam located next to Dunman Food Centre just steps away from Da Dong Prawn Noodles . Just to quash rumours, Mr & Mrs Mohgan are not retiring, they merely sold their stall at their old location (and taught the new owners some techniques). Also, Mr & Mrs Mohgan DID NOT sell their recipe to the new owners! . Today, Mr & Mrs Mohgan made the prata with a different flour as the old flour was not available, so the prata was thinner and not as crispy but they are bringing back the old specification flour soon! Also, today is their first day of business and the sambal is not available . #hawkersg #hawkerfood #uncagedstreetfood #foodphoto #singaporefood #hawker #streetfood #food #singapore #foodphoto #mrandmrsmohgansupercrispyrotiprata #rotiprata

It’s Mr and Mrs Mohgan themselves!

According to an Instagram post, the couple isn’t ready to let go of the prata lovers in Singapore.

They’ve simply sold their stall at the old location and taught the new owners some prata techniques.

It also clarified that the recipe that made them what they are today remained solely theirs.
