Famous S’pore Wanton Mee To Close Down For Three Months, Reopen in New Location By May 2018

My editor came into office looking really glum today. Judging from the look on his face, he probably failed to get himself a seat on the bus just now. Either that, or it has something to do with food.

“Dude, Eng’s Noodles House is no more!” He exclaimed, showing me a WhatsApp message.

While I have never eaten at Eng’s Noodles House before, I can still understand the pain when a stall a person frequents closes down. Heck, I would be devastated if the Ke Kou Mian stall in Bukit Panjang closes down. (Stay strong, Mr editor)

So, while my editor is crying his eyes out in the fetal position, allow me to tell you more about Eng’s Noodles house.

And then, after reading up more about Eng’s Noodles House, I realized something.

They are not closing down. They’re just relocating.

DAMMIT, GIMME BACK MY TEARS YOU ******* (Censored because I still need my job)

Ahem.

Anyway, Eng’s Noodle’s House will be relocating from 287 Tanjong Katong Road to a new shop space in the Katong area. As such, operations at the current location will end on 28 Feb and business is set to resume sometime in May this year, according to the owner, Mr Desmond Ng.

In case you’re wondering, Eng’s Noodles House was once located at Dunman Food Centre. Back then, it was managed by Mr Desmond Ng’s father, Mr Ng Ba Eng—which is also where the “Eng” in Eng’s Noodles house came from.

The late Mr Ng Ba Eng was named a Wanton Mee master by The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao in 2011.

While reviews of the place are generally mixed due to the alleged horrible attitude of the employees, perhaps I shall just try it once to see what the fuss is all about.

Well, and that’s about it for this article. I shall go tell my editor about the news before his eyeballs pop out of the sockets! Laters!
