Look who decided to join the ‘phone exploding’ gang!

A while back, Samsung made the headlines for a period of time, thanks to their exploding phones.

Many thought that Apple were better in terms of the history of exploding phones.

Thought: past tense

Last month, an iPhone exploded on its own in a hair salon in Vietnam.

Watch this shocking video:

As you can see from the video, nobody was paying attention to the phone.

It was just left at the desk on its own.

Suddenly, the phone explodes.

It was a legit explosion with a loud bang that shocked the staff and …

…okay I’m not sure if the customer even cared. I mean, look at her just sitting down there!

Anyways, you can obviously see that the explosion caused a bright flash of orange light (fire) at the bottom left-hand corner.

If that isn’t shocking, I don’t know what is.

Fortunately, the fire died quickly and nothing caught fire.

The staff were also unhurt, although the lady in the picture below seems ‘blown away’ by the sudden explosion.

The entire front panel of the iPhone was destroyed, along with most of the interior.

The back cover remains safely intact and you could still tell that it is an iPhone.

According to Sora News 24, netizens claimed that it was an iPhone 6 or 6S, which have been out for four and three years respectively.

Kinda old huh?

The reason for the explosion is still unknown and Apple did not address this issue as well.

But of course, we can’t assume that it was the manufacturer’s fault, it could be caused by third-party products as well, or purely just because the phone was old.

It is always recommended to use an official charger or cable, as the manufacturer, in this case Apple, cannot guarantee the safety of any third-party products.

In fact, it’s so unsafe that sometimes, users can “feel” the current on the cable.

So…what’s your next phone gonna be?
