Galaxy Note7 Owners, Here’s How You Can Exchange or Get a Refund For Your Device

Note7 owners, this is probably the one news you’ve been waiting impatiently for; how to exchange or refund your Galaxy Note 7 back to Samsung.

Samsung Singapore has updated their website with details on how the refund or exchange process will be like here.

Here’s what you need to know.

First thing first, the money

This time, Samsung is offering Galaxy Note7 two choices: either to exchange the Note7 for a Galaxy S7 Edge 4G+ and a cheque of $250.

Alternatively, if you’ve lost trust in Samsung products, you can choose to return the phone and get back the full amount of $1,168 in cheque.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve bought your phone from authorised retailers, telcos, consumer electronics stores, the official Samsung store from Lazada.sg or Samsung Experience stores, you are eligible for the exchange.

Refund is available for original Galaxy Note7 accessories too

There are some of us who have the habit of purchasing everything at one go, including phone cases and covers. This time, Samsung will also refund you the full retail value of original Galaxy Note7 accessories if you return them to the company.

The accessories are: Galaxy Note7 S View Standing Cover, Galaxy Note7 Clear View Cover, Galaxy Note7 LED View Cover, Galaxy Note7 Leather Cover, Galaxy Note7 Clear Cover, Galaxy Note7 Keyboard Cover and Galaxy Note7 Back Pack.

Refund will only be provided after the returned accessories are verified to be original Galaxy Note7 accessories.

How you can go about doing it

(Here are a couple of important details you must know bold for you.)

From 26 Oct to 6 Nov 2016, you can visit www.samsung.com/sg/note7exchange where you have to decide on a couple of things:

  • Select Exchange or Refund
  • Select preferred Galaxy S7 edge 4G+ colour for Exchange customers, subject to availability
  • Select the original Samsung Galaxy Note7 accessory to be refunded
  • Select preferred time slot from available home delivery slots

You will have to provide the following details when you’re logging in to do your refund/exchange.

  • Full name as per bank account
  • NRIC or FIN number
  • Mobile contact
  • Email address
  • Home delivery address

You will receive the cheque(s) during the home delivery. Do remember to do the necessary  (read: delete and reset the device) before the home delivery. You don’t want to be responsible for holding up the line, so to say, right?

For Samsung Concierge Members

If you have opted to exchange for a Galaxy S7 Edge 4+, the Samsung Concierge services will be transferred to your S7 Edge, effective the date of exchange.

If you, however, decide to give up Samsung for good, you will get a refund of $38 in cheque.
