Here’re The Time & Date to Deposit Your Money for a HUAT 2017

Many of us are familiar with Li Chun: it’s a date after Chinese New Year whereby if you deposit money on a specific time of the date based on your Chinese zodiac sign, it’ll bring you good fortune for the entire year.

But do you know that this is only practised in Singapore?

Well, whether you believe it or not, here’s the timetable for your reference.

As you can see, the early morning and late night of 3 February 2017 are ones of the “huat-est” periods.

And lest you’re still interested in Li Chun, here’re some interesting facts: Li Chun, known in Chinese as 立春, is the start of the first solar term, in which the Sun is exactly at the celestial longitude of 315°.

It marks the beginning of spring, and depending on the year, Li Chun might be before or after Chinese New Year. If it’s before Chinese New Year, it’s considered to be an unlucky year for marriage. But for those who’re proposing this year, fret not; it happens after Chinese New Year in 2017 instead!

Some of us also remember Li Chun as the day that we try to balance an egg on its broad end, and if we managed to do so, we’ll be lucky the entire year. It’s supposed to be easier due to the stronger gravitational force of the Sun’s position (what the?!), but this is obviously not scientifically true.

Whatever it is, just remember this: if you don’t believe in Li Chun, don’t plan to deposit your money on 3 February 2017, and keep as many eggs in your kitchen as you can. You never know who else in your household is pantang.
