Jam Near Causeway Somehow Became News But Here’re The Facts

Our dear Stomper Kevin, Sherine and Esmond submitted a story to Stomp regarding yet another jam that had occurred along Woodlands Avenue 3 on 9 December.

Yup, it somehow made it to Stomp but this is no new news to many, especially to those who have been SG / JB custom warriors for many years.

Just look at this:

The route to Woodlands Checkpoint is jammed. Period.

This is a situation that occurs almost every day or every other day. Friends who cross the causeway daily, tell me, is this fresh news?

Slow news day, have to report this… Bear with me.

And bear with those who don’t cross the causeway and have no idea that this is the situation many face every single day. Allow me to shed some light on this case.

Most buses to JB make a loop from starting point in Singapore to JB, and then out. Pretty much common sense right?

So, if buses can’t make their way in, they can’t make their way out. Vice versa.

Are you still with me? Take a look at this situation and you will get a rough idea:

Commuters stuck for 1.5 hours in weekly jam at Woodlands, some…

Commuters stuck for 1.5 hours in weekly jam at Woodlands, some walk 3 bus stops to Kranji MRT station http://bit.ly/2yZJyJ3

Jams are common and for passenger Sherine, she was “stuck in the bus for almost one and a half hours without moving” on her way to JB.

For your information, I don’t think this is the worst jam one will ever see. With Christmas round the corner, prepare your hearts as you brave the jam on Friday, 22 December.

Let’s not forget Chinese New Year in February 2018… Good luck all. I’m sure you will make it out alive, physically.

You see, it’s almost common for people to walk all the way from the checkpoint to the nearest MRT station. While it’s not exactly an everyday affair, it’s pretty much as common as a jam in PIE (okay, maybe not that common, but you get the idea).

Here’s a tip: if you see the queue in Kranji MRT Station is crazily long (to the extent of you not knowing where it starts), it might be faster to walk to the checkpoint instead. Buses might be caught in the jam #justsaying
