And if this article has the ability to time travel to the past, you’d most probably have turned, grabbed the certain Mr Chou for a selfie and got slammed to the ground by a bodyguard.

‘Coz Jay Chou was apparently here in Singapore yesterday, and it was an unannounced surprise visit.

If you’ve bothered to watch our two-year-old video, you’ll know that it’s a Bak Kut Teh restaurant that’s visited not just by Jay Chou before, but many other superstars like S.H.E. and JJ Lin.

And it’s for a good reason.

According to our colleagues who were there, it could well be the best BKT ever in Singapore and…Malaysia.

Granted that the taste of BKT is very subjective, with some preferring the herbal version while others like it to be peppery, getting a stamp of approval from my colleagues who complain about every food they’ve makaned is pretty much a must-go.

And considering that superstars go there as well, you can bet it’s one heck of a BKT place.

Yesterday, Jay Chou reconfirmed our point.

Bak Kut Teh Cafeteria posted this in Facebook, and it immediately caught the attention of netizens.

Jay Chou Makan-ed BKT for 35 Minutes

If you’re as popular as Jay Chou, I’m sure people would actually time how long you stay in a restaurant, because #fame

According to The Straits Times, Jay Chou was in the eatery at around 2:00 p.m. , together with two friends and a bodyguard. His wife, Hannah Quinlivan, who recently starred in the Hollywood blockbuster Skyscraper with The Rock, wasn’t with him.

The restaurant is run by a father-and-son team, and the father is apparently acquainted with Jay Chou for years.

When Jay is in Singapore, he would usually go to the restaurant for a meal (now you know where to stalk him when he’s here).

Apparently, it’s the father’s birthday yesterday, so they treated Jay and his friends to lunch.

Could be in KL Earlier or Later

Jay Chou has just finished a concert in China last Friday, and his streetwear label, Phantaci, officially opened a branch in KL on the same day. He has planned to visit the branch, so perhaps, Singapore is just a stop for him before (or after) his KL visit?

Whatever is it, I feel like having Bak Kut Teh now while listening to Jay Chou’s songs.
