Because during the CNY season red is the way to go, and we all know that red is symbolic, cheerful, and daringly wild, you should really go red this CNY.

But there’s no need to settle for only one staple way of wearing red, ladies, for there are other ways to flaunt red in the most beautiful ways ever.

Here are some ideas:

Red heels

Black is often the most sought-after colour for heels as it matches easily with everything – but this CNY, why not rock up to your relative’s abode with some red heels? Red heels do look classy, especially if you’re thinking of heading out to a fancy restaurant after.

And if you want to look taller in photos, then these red heels will definitely help. People will be talking about how great your legs will look in those red heels too!

Don’t like being too formal? Try out some red jeans then. Many shy away from bright-coloured denims, but just this once, indulge and try out something new. You can pair it off with something casual, like a tank top/singlet. Don’t want to stand out like a shining red traffic light? Then make sure your top is of a lighter shade, perhaps something like pastel.

A red handbag

Absolutely delicious, and very functional for all those angpows you receive/distribute. A nice handbag can complete your look and will look good for even the most casual outfits you wear. Seriously, you can take this baby anywhere and dazzle everyone with it. Don’t like handbags? Switch it up with a red purse, or a clutch bag if you’re looking for after-dinner cocktails with friends.

Plaid, because why not?

If you’re aiming to look a little more grungy/funky in red, then consider plaids. Red plaids that are mixed with neutral colours like white and black look casual and are fun to match up with pretty much anything, including sneakers or even sandals. Throw on a pair of sunglasses and you’ll be looking like something stepping out of a fashion magazine. There are plaid shirts, plaid dresses, plaid skirts…in short, there’s plaid for everything.

Red nail polish

I absolutely adore this one, because bright crimson on nails often contrasts beautifully with anything else you wear. Get a red pedicure, for example, and watch the magic work when paired with some elegant heels/wedges. If you’re daring, you can even get a red pedicure AND a red manicure. Accessorize with some jewellery (think dainty bracelets, rings with thin bands) and voilà– you’re set to impress.

A red belt

If you’re thinking of just skipping out on red clothes, period, then maybe you could get a red fashion belt instead. This is especially perfect if you’re wearing jeans or long dresses, in which a belt would help accentuate the curves of your waist. Skinny belts look delicate and graceful, whereas chunky belts are loud and bold. Test it around; switch it up – do whatever that makes you feel good!

Red fashion socks

Want to look super cute, adorable, fluffy and huggable without looking like a big “no entry” sign? Throw on some patterned (or even plain) red socks with your comfiest sneakers, along with any skirt/shorts you want on. If you’re looking for a really feminine look, you can even DIY and sew some lace onto your socks. Way to go, girl!

And oh, remember, it’s CNY! Try some things around and most importantly, have fun!

Since you’re here, why not watch a video about a guy who lodged a Police report here in Singapore because he was friendzoned? Seriously. Here, watch it and do remember to share it (and also subscribe to Goody Feed YouTube channel)!
