Lai lai, don’t say bojio: 50% off your 2nd movie ticket in Clementi!

If you’re a movie buff, you’ll know that the key players in Singapore are Golden Village, Cathay and Shaw. To some of us, we remember WE Cinemas, or fondly known to many as “Eng Wah”.

Since 2013, the only remaining two WE Cinemas, Suntec City and West Mall, have moved out. After that, WE Cinemas slowly faded away from our memories until 2015, when a new WE Cinemas Cineplex was open in Clementi.

People living in the west will be familiar with 321 Clementi, the mall that has no shops except for restaurants and a Cineplex. Located deep inside Clementi central, but still within walking distance from Clementi MRT, its predecessor is the nostalgic Empress Cinema.

With so many cinemas in Singapore, you could almost find a promotion to get discounts for your movies. All cinemas have a senior citizen promotion, all cinemas have various credit card promotions and all cinemas have some form of combo promotion with their popcorn.

But WE Cinema has one that seems to cater to the tech-savvy generation: download an app and pay with NETS or NETS FlashPay, and you get 50% off the second ticket!

To participate in the promotion, you merely need to do two things.

1. Download the app NETS Savers
2. Go to the Cineplex, show the cashier the app and make payment with a NETS or NETS FlashPay card.

This promotion, unfortunately, is only valid from Monday to Thursday. But then again, this could well be the perfect way for students in neighbouring schools to spend their three-hour break, isn’t it?

Here’re the terms and conditions as indicated on their website:

− All NETS and NETS FlashPay Cardholders are entitled to participate in the proposed promotion.
− Promotion Period: 15 Mach 2016 to 30 June 2016 or whilst stocks last (“Promotion Period”).
− Promotion Mechanics: To enjoy the Promotion during the Promotion Period, customers need to flash WE Cinemas offer from their mobile phone to enjoy the Promotion.
i) Customers need to press the “Redeemed” button on the mobile app.
ii)  Customers need to make payments with NETS or NETS FlashPay card in a participating outlet.
− The discounted movie ticket is limited to a maximum of 2 redemptions per customer NETs Savers app account.
− Valid from Mondays to Thursdays excluding eve of public holidays and public holidays.
− Valid for Box Office purchases only.
− Valid for 2D screenings only.
− Not valid for FIRST CLASS, premium-priced films and special screenings such as Atmos, HFR or 3D.
− Not valid for online booking.
− Not to be used in conjunction with other corporate bookings, promos, privileges, discounts, vouchers, cards, coupons, unless otherwise stated.
− Limited to a maximum of 20,000 redemptions during the promotion period.
− NETS and Eng Wah Global reserve the rights to amend the terms and conditions without prior notice.
