Nas Daily Coming Back to S’pore on 5 Dec But Not to Make 1-Min Videos

Can’t get enough of Nas Daily?

I’m sure I’ve enough, considering that whenever I log in to Facebook, I’ll see at least one friend sharing one of his videos. He’s like Jay Chou in KTV: you’ll definitely hear his songs in any KTV session, just like you’ll definitely see Nas Daily videos in any Facebook newsfeed.

Lest you’ve a goldfish memory, his last visit in Singapore was merely less than two months ago: and last month, while he was in China filming, he edited and uploaded this video that somehow created a public (online) debate:

Wherever you stand, you can’t deny that this young screaming kid has taken over Facebook and knows the game well.

And he’s coming to Singapore to teach you just that.

Singapore Media Festival

From 28 November to 9 December 2018, the Singapore Media Festival is returning for the fifth time, with its focus to celebrate the best of Asian storytelling. It is hosted by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and includes a number of events and even competitions to provide Asian media talents to be discovered.

In fact, there would be free screenings of some Singapore classic movies like Money No Enough and The Teenage Textbook Movie.

But what has it got to do with Nas Daily – or specifically, the man behind Nas Daily, Nuseir Yassin?

Nuseir Yassin to Speak on Event and mentor three Singapore content creator

Here, I’ll let him speak instead:

According to the announcement, here’s what he would be doing specifically:

Nuseir Yassin will speak on topics including building digital audiences, digital storytelling for online platforms, and how audience response has shaped his content. He will also personally select three Singapore content creators to be mentored and produce their own one-minute videos. Interested participants can submit a one-minute video to [email protected] by 4 November to get a chance to meet and work with Nuseir Yassin.

Yeah, me also wonders why a Gmail is used but anyways.

Now, of course we’re all wondering whether he’s paid for this. Short answer: we don’t know and might never know.

But anyways.

Nuseir Yassin Hasn’t Had It Well In the Last Couple of Weeks

Yes, Nas Daily is still going strong, with Nuseir Yassin in Canada now, but it hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing in the comment section.

About two weeks ago, he did a video about “Petty Person Beating” (打小人) and some netizens think it is irresponsible, as it’s almost akin to encouraging people to curse others with magic.

About a month ago, he posted a video about a man who lived in a KL airport for months, and the man was arrested on 1 October 2018. So far, Yassin hasn’t replied to the new comments on the video about the arrest.

Still, his fan base has been growing, and as of today, there would only be 92 “days” left (he promised to make 1,000 videos).
