Our bed is our throne – where we sleep or do something more. This sacred place is very much affected by what we have on it, or around it. These 6 things below might create potential problems for your bed and yourself so if you have them, it might be time to reconsider keeping them.

Decorative plants
Decorative plants like Bonsai plants, or even a cactus at the bedside may look superbly pretty and Instagram-able, but remember, while plants photosynthesises to produce oxygen, but they do the complete opposite at night! Without light, plants respire, meaning they give out carbon dioxide. For those who sleep in air-conditioned rooms, plants can deplete the amount of oxygen available in the room. Therefore, it is a bad idea for those who have asthma.

TV
TV is something most people have in their bedrooms, but having one can be distracting, and make you sleep later. You might think “One episode won’t kill” before bed time, but if you keep watching shows after shows, you might end up sleeping late for a continuous period of time!

Excessive Cushions
Excessive cushions on the bed may make the bed look fancy and pretty, like those in magazines and interior design catalogues, but what these soft things really do is trap a lot of dust. Over time, it gets dirty and with your body warmth, A LOT of germs and bacteria will thrive within those cute cushions.

Alarm Clock
No, don’t get us wrong, we know you need an alarm clock to get ready for school and work, but putting your alarm clock near your bed within arm’s reach may mean that you might just turn it off and….go back to sleep. That is disastrous. Your boss might be pissed that you are late.

Phone
Those apps on your phones often have notifications you might get notifications during the night. Also, having your phone close to you means you’re always contactable, and sometimes, that is not something you want. Imagine your boss calling you at 3am in the morning, being pissed is probably an understatement.

Furry dolls
Yes girls love to snuggle up to these furry dolls or soft toys, but because they are furry,  they trap all kinds of insects – dust mites, bacteria, mold. And yet you tend to put your face close to your teddy bear…YUCK.
