Okay, Turns out That Even Andy Lau, a 天王, Is Also Afraid of His Wife

Andy Lau is many things: charismatic, a natural-born lady-killer, majestic singer and a prolific actor.

And like David Beckham and fine wine, he just seems to look better as time goes by.

I mean; just look at him.

Mama mia.

As my mum used to say, if she had been able to marry Andy Lau she would have been the happiest woman on Earth.

No offence to my dad, but I wouldn’t exactly mind being Andy Lau’s son either. Just kiddinggg. Or am I?

But there’s one thing you might not know.

This God among men, the mortal we know as Andy Lau actually has a fatal flaw.

And you wouldn’t have guessed it, not in a million years.

It’s none other than… his wife.

It looks like even this infallible saint-like figure has fallen prey to the demon that has haunted men for ages: women.

And before you blast me for conjuring this cock-and-bull story from my asshole, it was spoken by the man himself.

“I’m scared of my wife”

According to Stomp, Andy had made the revelation just recently, during an early birthday celebration with fans in Hong Kong.

Kwong Wah Daily ran an article on the superstar and going by it, one of the guests at the birthday party had teased Andy for fearing his indomitable five-year-old daughter, Hanna.

Instead of brushing the accusation off with his trademark ‘jaw-line out’, ‘white teeth’ and ‘angled cheekbones’ smile, he chose to make a startling confession.

Rather than his daughter, he was actually afraid of his Malaysian wife, 51-year-old Carol Chu.

Seeing as both his wife and daughter were at his birthday party, I must applaud the man for stepping up to the plate. Because honestly, not every man would have the balls to declare, “I’m afraid of my wife, people!” in front of the aforementioned wife.

Good luck, Andy! We hope that you will be alright the next day!

WE WANT MORE OF ANDY LAU

While you might not have been able to see the person himself during his birthday celebration, you can still catch him in theatres!

He’s the lead actor in crime action film ‘The Adventurers’, and if the poster can be used as a gauge…

You’ve got a real badass show on your hands.

Directed by Stephen Fung, this blockbuster also stars Jean Reno and Shu Qi, who are both megastars in their own right.

Synopsis: An infamous and charismatic thief (Andy Lau) joins forces with two other criminals to pull off the heist of a lifetime. They must take their game to the next level when a legendary French detective (Jean Reno) begins to pursue them across Europe.

It might be a good idea for a date, especially if your girlfriend’s a huge Andy Lau fan! (Vice versa)

But you might need to hurry though. The show’s been out in Singapore for quite a while (it was released on 31 August), so catch it fast!

Birthday

And to end off on a positive note, it’s actually Andy Lau’s birthday yesterday (27 September 2017)! This means that he has hit the 55-year mark, but for some weird reason, he’s still looking 30. #thecuriouscaseofandylau

Let’s wish him a happy birthday, and hope that he graces the big screen for many years to come!

I still don’t mind him being my dad. This time for real.
