Despite our homeland being a tiny dot on the world map, it seems like Singapore is more recognized worldwide now, with our malls on an international scale. Americans are pretending, or perhaps unintentionally describing this certain mall from Singapore to be a mall in the States.

This weekend, Mothership found something so interesting that if they had not reported it, people might still travel to the US and found out that one of our Singapore malls has grown wings and had undergone a name change.

MBS, or otherwise known as Marina Bay Sands, is now appearing in U.S. as “San Jose California Eastridge Mall,” “Fairlane Mall. Dearborn, Michigan,” “Hickory Ridge Mall, Memphis,” or “Lima Mall in Ohio.” We’re just as confused as you are.

WTF, indeed.

A moment of silence for those who actually went down to the mentioned malls after they saw these pictures online since they had no idea this was right in Singapore. With the classy and luxurious interiors, MBS does look like one of the malls that would appear in Manhattan though. One of the pictures above even shows lots of ang mohs chilling about, which makes it look like a place right out of America.

And if you want to, this is exactly how Fairlane Mall Looks like.

Twitter users in America recently took the picture of MBS and changed the name (and apparently location) of this mall. There were countless posts about this mall as if it were shopping mall “goals.” But the names of these malls were all the malls from U.S. And us aside, some Americans were confused as hell too. After the Twitter posts and retweets about MBS as “Lima Mall” in Ohio, or “San Jose California Eastridge Mall,” some Twitter users gave their responses after actually visiting the mall and realized Lima Mall doesn’t look like how they claimed it to be.

But this takes the cake.

MBS has apparently been named “Fairyland Mall” since people realized that this mall doesn’t look a tad bit like Fairlane mall in Michigan.  And if you do a search on the U.S. malls, you’ll understand the ponds don’t even bear resemblance to our manmade river in MBS.

But finally, Singaporeans come to the rescue.

The last response was our reaction for sure, when we found out how MBS was located in America. MBS has definitely succeeded in becoming shopping mall goals, and made Singaporeans proud of such a mall! Perhaps Changi Airport can be Empire State Building soon.

Really nice try.
