But what’s on sale?
After revealing our insider source’s name to the public in one of our previous articles, Shopee took immediate action. The insider, Amelia, was banished all the way to Great Britain, where she now ekes out a living rapping under her new moniker, “Nicki Minaj”.
What a terrible fate. We are so not sorry, Amelia.
Subsequently, Shopee warned its employees to be especially tight-lipped around us. And seeing how they treated Amelia, the employees got so fearful that they have started Anti-Goody Feed chanting rituals at dinner time.
Honestly, it looked bleak for us. However, we are not giving up. Just yet.
We held a major team meeting, and during the process, someone raised a thought.
“Well… how about a blind date? They could go to a bar for a drink, and get more information from the date who’s working in Shopee.”
Silence erupted. The boss was heavily in thought (he’s always either heavily in thought or sleeping).
“Seeing how Shopee’s employees have been forbidden from interacting with us, I don’t see how we can carry out that idea,” the boss said. “Unless someone’s still in contact with a Shopee employee?”
Another round of applause (people always applauded when the boss speaks for no reason), but this time everyone’s gaze was directed to one person.

“What?” I croaked.
“You have been contacting that Denise girl, haven’t you?” someone asked, almost accusatory.
Nods of agreement; I could feel cold sweat breaking out on the back of my neck.
“So… so what if I have been?” I asked, trying to avoid eye contact.

We were in a bar, and Denise was uttering all kinds of things I didn’t really want to hear.
But it worked. My plan had worked. Although it took just one glass, but whatever.
I drew up another chair and leaned in close. Furrowing my eyebrows, I reached inside my blazer pocket.
She looked at me, eyes wide and fearful, as I took out a gun. A finger gun.
“Denise, you’re going to do what I want,” I breathed, licking my lips. “You’re going to give me what I want, you understand me?”
She stared at me, eyes wide and fearful, before nodding ever so slightly. “Just please don’t kill me…” she whispered.
“I won’t…” I breathed. “But you gotta be a good girl. Understand?”
She stared at me intensely. Or blankly. Couldn’t tell.
I took a deep breath, before prodding her forehead lightly with my finger gun. “Do you understand?”
Slowly but surely, she nodded, head shaking back and forth.
“Alright…” I murmured. Time to move in for the kill.
