I bet you’re familiar with the term ‘YOLO’.

If you’re a hunching caveman who never heard of it, let me spell it out for you.

You Only Live Once.

Sounds cool, eh? Unfortunately, some might take it a bit too far.

STOMPer STOMPs

On August 21, at around 4.49pm, Stomper W saw five students hanging out on a high ledge at Riversound Residence Block 9, a condo in Sengkang East.

And as anyone would, he proceeded to film it and sent it to Stomp.

In the video, the teenagers are sitting on the third highest ledge of the building, with their legs dangling precariously over the edge.

They slowly left got up one by one, traversed the ledge before exiting.

STOMPer W was understandably concerned about the students, stating that accidents were always possible and what they were doing was really dangerous.

By posting the video online, he wishes to alert the school’s attention so that the students won’t do it a second time.

He also hopes that other students would be more aware of ‘dangerous places’ and not pull off such a stunt.

As he wisely put it, “Safety first. Sanity second.”

Management Of Condominium Responds

The management of Riversound Residence has since responded to the tip off.

They revealed that when they tracked down the unit in question, they discovered that one of the students lives there. The student’s parents were notified by the management.

The remaining students are friends.

Of course, the management is also quick to add that the ledge is “part of the bomb shelter’s mandatory reinforcement structure and all safety requirements are met as confirmed by our architect.”

You know what this reminds me of?

You’ve probably seen all those rooftop daredevils.

If you’ve not, some really put your heart in your mouth.

The students might not have exactly been ‘rooftop devils’, but what’s to say that they wouldn’t attempt something like it in the future?

I agree with STOMPer W.

Lives are already fragile enough – accidents happen nearly every day, and sometimes people who least expect it just fade off the planet. Why endanger it even more?

Cherish your life more, guys. It wasn’t easy coming into this world.

Remember, you were already a winner when you were born.

Stay a winner till the end.
