Last month, Mr Terrence Ho reportedly became the first Pokémon Master in Singapore by catching all 145 Pokémon in record time. However, many netizens threw salt at him, for he had told the media that he got his overseas friends to capture the region-exclusive Pokémon.

Now, in comes Mr Chapman Sim: in his Facebook profile, he sees himself as a traveller, gamer, creator, dreamer and friend.

He can now add one more word to his resume: Pokémon Master.

In order to prove that he has catch ‘em all legitimately, he posted a photo album of his journey, including proofs of air tickets to various countries like Hong Kong, Japan (Tokyo) the US (Seattle), UK (London) and Australia (Sydney).

What’s even more interesting is that from his photo album, he was in the US for a Magic World Champion, a trading card game competition that offers cash prizes up to USD$50,000 to its winners.

Now, that’s what a hardcore professional gamer should do on a regular basis.

His photo journal comprises his earnest thoughts during his quest to be the very best, from missing out on several Pokémon to rushing over to an area when a rare Pokémon is spotted. Now, isn’t that how the game is supposed to be played?

According to his interview with CLEO, he only spent $300 on in-app purchases. Most of his travels are for work, therefore the total cost spent is a tad ambiguous. But hey, who cares how much you spend when you could travel and catch Pokémon at the same time?

And he sums up his experience in the best possible way: “My goal is not only to ‘travel across the land, searching far and wide’, but also to inspire everyone to believe in your dreams and never give up.”

Oh, and if you’re interested, he did mention how much time he spent on the game.

So for those who are interested, it’s up to 120 hours. Or somewhere near there. #justsaying
