You enter the kitchen ready to prepare dinner for your incoming guests in the evening on 初一. Unfortunately, you’re missing that delectable sauce for dipping your finger food in, or a couple more vegetables for your extra guests.

Fear not, these supermarkets are still at your service on 28 January, the first day of Lunar New Year.


Giant

According to their website, all giant stores are open (wah, Giant, you good seh!), with some being 24-hour stores while others open a little later in the morning. For your convenience, some have extended hours in order for you to complete your last-minute shopping.

NTUC FairPrice

25 stores are open and more than 57 stores extend their opening time by an extra one or two hours. Check out their website here for exact locations. On 30 January, their 140 stores will resume their usual opening hours as well.


Sheng Siong

If you need a quick breakfast or are just dying for some fast food, McDonald’s and KFC are open to fulfil your needs, except for those in polytechnics or other schools.
