On 11 Feb, a thief broke into a Thai lady’s home, and stole about 2 million baht’s worth of jewellery. That is the equivalent of roughly SGD 80k. If she suay then kena housebreak, I give it to her lah, but this lady had been bragging about her jewellery on social media for a long time.
In fact, her husband had tried to convince her to stop, but to no avail.
It’s as if the lady was trying to get rid of her jewellery by theft.
On the day of the theft, the victim, Sumanli, left her home at 5pm to set up their stall. Upon returning home at 11pm, they discovered the aftermath of the housebreaking.
I imagine the husband had immediately turned to her and yelled “I told you so!” in her face. I’d have done that. Then probably start crying because holy shit it’s S$80,000.
The police are currently attempting to track the thief through CCTV cameras around the neighbourhood.
Hopefully, Ms. Sumanli learns her lesson and stops showing off her jewellery online, but now that her gaffe has gotten viral, everyone probably already knows about her valuables. They might have to move, actually, before some other enterprising thief tries again.
Let this be a lesson to all of you out there. Don’t brag about your riches on social media so that everyone can see. If you’re really sick of still owning your valuables, you could just give it to us.
