I never used to believe in magic. No, that’s just make-believe.

The only two people in the world I’m familiar with are David Copperfield and yes, David Blaine.

Another thing which I hate more than anything on my face are the damned blackheads.

Don’t even get me started with beauticians and the painful extraction process. How I wish there was a simple, cheap and effective way of removing blackheads. One that would work like magic, like you know, David Copperfield (he can make the Statue of Liberty disappear, so I believe he can also make our blackheads disappear, no?).

Guess how I felt when I saw that one such way exists? There’s a solution. And it involves something else you could find in your bathroom.

A good old’ tube of toothpaste.

This is how you get down with blackheads and toothpaste, and it doesn’t involve Mr Copperfield.

Get the Right Toothpaste

You need to go for the type where the paste is white, and not one that’s made out of gel. Also, make sure that it doesn’t have extra functions – whitening or for sensitive teeth and gums. You’d want to have a tube of the simplest toothpaste in your hands.

How It Works

Toothpaste contains a couple of ingredients that dry your pores. I’m referring to the ones that have blackheads.

The Application

Wash your face as you would do your normal routine. Dry it with a towel. Apply a thin layer of toothpaste to the affected portions of your face–this is usually your chin and nose. Leave the paste to dry. When it dries up, rub the toothpaste into your skin to remove the blackheads. Wash and rinse your face again.

And please, use a bit of your common sense: you don’t need to use a toothbrush to rub the toothpaste on your skin. You can use your hand.

Adding Salt to the Routine

Mix one part toothpaste and one part of salt together. If you find it too thick for you, add water to thin the paste out.

Rub the mixture to your face (RIGHT where those blackheads are) and leave it for a good 10 minutes. Mash the paste into your skin by rubbing it around to help get the blackheads out of your pores. Wash it off and put on your moisturizer.

In case you’re not sure if your skin is sensitive to toothpaste, I’d suggest dabbing a tiny bit of toothpaste at a small portion of your face before you try it all over. Better to be safe than sorry, right?

You can also close your pores after the toothpaste ordeal by applying a couple of ice cubes on your face. This keeps the bacteria away from your now open pores.
