Thailand has made a name for itself as the Land of Smiles. However, we are not sure if the locals or we (the tourists) smile more when we land in Thailand!
Besides Bangkok’s famous shopping district, Thailand offers tons more iconic places that you should also visit. After all, shopping can be done anywhere, but getting up close with elephants and tigers is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
1. Wat Arun
The Temple of Dawn in Bangkok is just by the river. It literally glows when the sun is setting – totally instagrammable
2. Ayutthaya Historical Park
It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s just one hour away from Bangkok. Before being unearthed, the underground structures have survived for hundreds of years after fires and attacks.
3. Bangkok’s Grand Palace
It is a 218,000-square-meter walled city of royal residences, throne halls, Buddhist temples, and priceless works of art. You will take at least 3 hours to finish exploring the magnificence of the entire palace.
4. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Take a ride on a long-tail boat in the morning to explore the fresh produce being offered. Breakfast such as coconut pancakes and spring rolls can be bought and eaten on the boat as you tour the market.
5. Chiang Mai Sunday Night Walking Street
Chiang Mai is known as the “Rose of the North”, with chill vibes and a bustling nightlife. culture, beautiful Buddhist temples, plentiful restaurants, and spirited nightlife. A night bazaar is held every evening along Chang Khlan Road but the best day to shop is during Sunday’s Night Market.
6. Elephant Nature Park
Animal lovers will love exploring this peaceful sanctuary for elephants. There are about 30 free-roaming elephants in the park, and those who take a tour will be able to learn about the history and situation of the Asian elephants, gaining much appreciation for these majestic animals.
7. Tiger Kingdom
These are some of the most fearsome animals that have ever existed on Earth. Although they may be scary, they are mostly quite tame as they have been handled by humans from young.
8. Wat Rong Khun
The “White Temple,” is an intricate structure of a Buddhist temple. It is now the highlight of Chiang Mai, or perhaps even any Thailand trips. The white represents religious purity, as opposed to the garish gold that decorates most Buddhist temples in Thailand.

9. Monkey Temples of Lopburi
Once you reach, you will be able to see the mischievous monkeys everywhere, on the roads or even hanging from tree branches. Beware that these monkeys sometimes take advantage of tourists’ curious natures and can grab your food right from your hands.
10. Phang Nga Bay
Phuket is a holiday destination for many people and the fascinating Phang Nga Bay is a beautiful natural landmark to visit. It is known for its unusual limestone rock formations and emerald waters, where you can also do water sports.
11. Cartoon Network Amazone – Waterpark Pattaya
Here’s a place you can relive your childhood memories to your heart’s content. The world’s first Cartoon Network water theme park, it has 30 water rides, slides and attractions and is absolutely huge.
It’s divided into different zones, each with its unique feature: Cartoonival (which kids love for its 150 slides, fountains and other water features); Omniverse (for daredevils) and the Adventure Zone (visit the Banana Spin ride when you’re there!) and many others!
Don’t leave the park early because at the end of the day, live shows featuring exciting stunts, light displays and cartoon characters will start.
