Vesak Day is a very important date in the Buddhist lunar calendar because it celebrates the birth, the enlightenment and the passing into Nirvana of Buddha. Buddhists around the world commit good deeds on this day because they believe that it will multiply many times over. Spirituality aside, this holiday also has its practicalities; it falls on 19 May 2019, a Sunday. That means you have the Monday off to continue doing good deeds!

When you think of musicals, the first thing that probably comes to mind is The Phantom of the Opera. What makes it roll off the top of your mind, you ask? It’s because it’s the longest running show on Broadway, where it has been shown for 30 years in 2018. Now it is continuing its legacy on our shores, detailing the trials and tribulations of ‘The Phantom’, a disfigured musical genius who haunts the Paris Opera House.

What’s a story without a little drama, though? The Phantom is obsessively trying to court Christine, a young Soprano in the opera house. Christine, however, has a crush on Raoul, a childhood friend of hers. Watch as The Phantom does whatever he can to court Christine and the consequences following his actions, and you’ll be on your seats thinking to yourself, “Wow, he did that?”
