Apart from the ongoing Downtown Line (DTL) that will connect the north-western part of Singapore to the eastern regions, there are actually a lot more lines that have been planned or are already in the works.

The Thomson-East Coast Line is planned for a complete opening by 2025, the Jurong Region Line by 2030, the Circle Line by 2025, and the Cross Island Line by 2030. Although these lines are enough to cause us to have butterflies fluttering about in our stomachs, these five MRT stations definitely takes the cake.

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) MRT station
With the new MRT station at NTU, the university will be called Pulau NTU no more. Easy access of the school for students and professors alike. It also means that any good food that is situated within the school compound is equally as accessible to members of the public.

Tuas Link MRT station
We are not exactly sure how office workers whose offices are located at Tuas Link can survive the day.

Taking public transport is one thing but having to take both MRT, the bus, then the company transport to your workplace already sounds troublesome enough. Thank God for the new upcoming Tuas Link MRT station then, no?

Johor Bahru MRT station
You get to go to JB at lightning fast speed. Seeing as how the Malaysian ringgit is at an all-time low, it makes going there for a meal and a shopping trip that much simpler.

Bedok North MRT station
Bedok 85 is known to be the hub where all the good food in the east are located. However, it is not easy to get there if you don’t have your own transportation. Unless you want to walk 20-minute from Tanah Merah MRT station, the new Bedok North MRT station is likely your best bet.

Upper Thomson MRT station
Yet another area that is popular among teenagers and young adults. Think suppers filed with prata, tau huey, and ice-cream at a relatively accessible place where you can save on cab fare at the same time.
