Skincare doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive. Even ingredients that you find at home (like egg whites!) can be used to keep your skin soft and supple. Here’s how you can try working from the inside out for beautiful skin that glows.
#1 – Honey and egg white
This is completely free. All you need to do is get to your kitchen, get an egg, separate the egg white, add a tablespoon of honey, mix well, and apply. The moisturizing properties of honey help to soothe skin, whereas egg white tightens your skin pores. Leave it on for 20 minutes, and you’ll feel your skin tighten. Wash it off, and say hello to a perfectly radiant and glowing complexion.
#2 – Use an exfoliating black sugar mask
Black and brown sugar has been known to both exfoliate and moisturise skin. We tried using Skinfood’s Black Sugar Wash Off Mask and love how the exfoliating scrub leaves skin feeling porcelain smooth. The sugar grains, which are great for sensitive skin, make for an excellent exfoliator and dissolve slowly into your face as you apply it. The scrub also moisturises your face as it sets, and after a rinse off, you’ll have glowing skin that’s baby-soft to the touch. You can get the Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off mask on Hermo, with great ShopBack discounts to boot.
#3 – Pop some pills
Primrose oil pills, in particular. The many powers of Primrose oil include the ability to: naturally treat PMS symptoms, lose weight, balance hormones, help combat acne, psoriasis, eczema, and other skin problems. This is due to the essential fatty acids present in Primrose oil. If you don’t already have some at home, you can easily get your dose viaVitacost and enjoy up to 4% cashback today.
#4 – Spend some time on your yoga mat
There are many who swear by the benefits Yoga has on your health, and skin. We advocate healthy living and finding your glow from the inside out, but we understand that for many of us, exercise is not something that comes naturally. While bracing yourself up for a 5km run might seem a little too much now, how about trying some yoga poses that are believed to be able to improve your skin? If you don’t have a yoga mat, it’s time to get one delivered to your home now at a really great price on Lazada.
#5 – CTM (Aka Cleansing, Toning, and Moisturising)
Cleansing, toning, and moisturising are must-dos for a great complexion. When it comes to facial products that bring out milky, glowing skin, Korea is where you should be looking. You could even follow the 10 step skincare routine (removing your makeup properly, using a oil based and water based cleanser, exfoliating, toning, putting on your essence and ampoule and sheet mask, followed by the eye cream, moisturiser, overnight cream / sunscreen if you’re going out). Get your skincare products shipped directly from Korea with Althea.
#6 – Get a hat
If all else fails, you can always hide your not-so-glowing face underneath a gigantic hat and no one would notice. We’re kidding! UV light damages our skin and causes sunburn, and is the reason being 80% of your skin’s aging. UV damage leads to wrinkles and dark spots, and you could possibly be adding years to your visage.
While sunscreen greatly helps, there are days where you’ll need more coverage from the nasty weather that’s trying to barbecue you and your precious skin alive. You’ve seen aunties in public carrying gaudy-looking umbrellas for this reason, and we’re sure you don’t want to be caught looking like that. So do yourself a favour and look splendid while giving your skin some extra protection. Zalora is one place we’d go to for a wide range of hats for every occasion.
There you go- You now have a bright and radiant complexion and are glowing from within. Isn’t this so much better than hiding spots and blemishes all day? Now all you need to do (if you want to, that is) is to fill in your eyebrows, pop a slight bit of colour on your face and lips, and you’re good to go!

The Coca-Cola Plus Coffee has arrived in Singapore, and let’s just say that the taste is very subjective: one of us thinks it’s like coffee candy, one of us thinks it’s like carbonated dark chocolate milk and one of us think it’s like Vanilla Coke. However, none of us thinks that it’s worth a second try, simply because we’ll all rather have Coke and coffee separately.
