There isn’t a single person on this planet that doesn’t like Nutella. If you’ve met one, that person is not from this planet and you should report them to the Men In Black’s Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones so that they can zap them to bits. It’s no wonder that such a disgustingly addictive sweet treat is being put into all kinds of food to make it that much better, and here are 7 you should try out. Like right now.

Nutella pancakes
Pancake mix is easily available at your nearest NTUC or Cold Storage, but instead of just mixing it with milk and/or water then cooking them, spread a dollop on your half cooked pancakes before flipping them. Add strawberries and bananas, top it up with a bit of yoghurt and watch yourself levitate with your first bite.

Nutella cake in a mug
Who said cakes were difficult to make? Spread a little butter around a microwavable mug or bowl, then add 4 tablespoons of flour, 3 tablespoons of milk, 3 tablespoons of oil, an egg and 3 tablespoons of Nutella. Mix to combine, then microwave for 2 minutes. Thick, rich, Nutella-ty cakey goodness.

Nutella smoothie
Start your day with a calorie laden energy booster. Throw a banana, 2 tablespoons of Nutella, half a cup of milk and half a cup of ice into a blender and blitz until smooth. With this kind of sugar high, you won’t need a cup of coffee to give you a buzz in the morning.

Nutella coffee
Or maybe you do. Why not both? If you’ve woke up from the wrong side of bed and look like an absolute wreck after a long night or know that you’re in for a long day, try adding a teaspoon of Nutella to your coffee in the morning. Caffeine plus sugar buzz!

Nutella bread pudding
The usual, run of the mill bread pudding combines butter, milk, eggs, sugar and diced up bread baked into a rich, cakey dessert. Jazz it up by replacing the sugar with Nutella, and turn your bread pudding into a swirling mess of hazelnut delight. Bring it over the top with a dollop of vanilla ice cream.

Nutella French toast

If you like French toast, wait till you try this. Instead of just coating your toast with eggwash and grilling or frying them in a pan, make a Nutella and banana sandwich and slice it diagonally before you dip them into your eggwash, then grill the whole thing. You’re not going to mind the great big mess of hot, gooey Nutella and banana all over your face after devouring it.

Nutella tiramisu
Although a proper, authentic tiramisu is far more elaborate, a simple version of it can be made just by layering the bottom of a bowl with coffee-soaked ladyfingers (the biscuits, not the vegetable), then spreading a mix of whipped cream mixed with mascarpone cheese before sprinkling coffee or cocoa powder on top. Add Nutella to your filling to create an even more outstanding counterbalance between sweet and bitter.
