Since the inception of Running Man, the producers have chosen the hosts based on what they know of them and want them to exaggerate their traits on the show. Ji Suk-jin was one of the weakest in term of fitness then, and when he told his producers that he was going to exercise and keep fit after many episodes, his producers told him not to, because the team needs some weak characters for more laughter.
