In this day and age where people like their salads and cakes in jars so that it is not only cute but also easily transported, let us not forget the demand for the demon in a jar.

Many witch doctors popularly known as “bomohs”, offer these demons that are foetuses that have been stolen from clinics and hospitals. In some cases, pregnant ladies have been brutally attacked to meet the demand for these unborn children. These foetuses are then stored in a jar filled with herbs and medicinal liquid, and sold to people who are looking for luck and prosperity.

Despite knowing all this, I heard about a famous bomoh originally from Penang who is well known for his “good quality” demon foetuses. I was going through a rough time and needed some supernatural help to turn my luck around. It wouldn’t be so bad right?

I met up with Pak Umi and sought his help. He gave me a glass jar and in it was a reddish mass of flesh. He ordered me to feed it a drop of my blood every day without fail. After seven days, I would need to read out a special spell. After that, I would be able to command the demon to do any of my bidding. It was amazing at first. I was able to sleep with any woman I desired. I always found large stacks of cash around my house. I even won the lottery twice. And with each passing day, the liquid surrounding my demon grew redder with my fresh blood.

A few months later, things began to turn bizarre. I started having nightmares and constantly broke out in cold sweats. I lost my sleep and my job. I started hearing voices, cries and the pulse of a baby’s heart. I even do crazy things that I do not remember later like dashing across the road.

I am terrified and I need help. My life is being overtaken by a demon and it is frightening. I need to destroy the foetus. I tried contacting Pak Umi but he seems to have disappeared without a trace.  I want to burn the demon and throw the ashes into the drain, but yet I am scared of what might happen to me or to my family.

Will the demon only be happy if I die?
