Here in Singapore, we take our food very seriously.
Durian, Salted Egg (blank) and Bubble Tea…
These are flavours that have been so infused in our society, they become uniquely Singaporean.
And of course, who can forget the numbing, spicy, fragrant, why-do-i-do-this-to-myself Mala Xiang Guo.
A dish that compels all polytechnic students and working adults alike to come together every lunch break, sweating and gulping down several iced drinks at once – truly a representation of a bonding experience.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get better, this face pops up in our Mala-verse.
Coming To a KFC Near You
You heard that right.
Despite originating China, the dish came as an immigrant into Singapore, and created a large following of masochists.
This probably inspired KFC to come out with their Mala Chicken, a deluxe and unique menu item.
The limited-edition Mala fried Chicken will be selling from Friday onwards (8 March) for a limited time only.
Deep fried and marinated with the KFC’s Szechuan Mala sauce, the Mala Chicken is bound to ‘fire up your senses’.
And it is common knowledge that any food trend plus chicken will always do well, of which KFC have been doing exceptionally well so far.
(I’m talking about the Parmesan truffle chicken that was so bomb I almost ate it every day before my lactose intolerant body gave up on me.)
