When humans first started forming societies, they realized one thing; humans are animals. Literally and figuratively. Humans will steal, kill, and sexually assault others if nothing stands in their way. That’s why we created the law.

The law is designed to prevent our society from peeing in public and stealing each other’s iPhone, among other things. Without it, society would be in total chaos.

Some humans still choose to break the law, however, because of their complete disregard for others. Some people, just get their kicks from being criminals.

Like this woman who dared to go topless in her own home.

Mother Charged And May Have To Register As Sex Offender After Being Topless In Her Own Home

A Utah woman is facing charges after she says her stepchildren spotted her topless in her own home.

A year ago, Tili Buchanan and her husband were hanging drywall in their garage. Since, dust tends to fly around when you’re hanging drywall, the couple decided to remove their shirts to avoid getting dust on their clothes. Buchanan also removed her bra.

That seems perfectly fine, it’s her own home after all. Does she do something unlawful after that?

Nope, that was the unlawful act.

Her three stepchildren asked why she wasn’t wearing a shirt, and she told the children that everyone should be fine walking around their own home with their skin showing, and I have to agree with that.

I mean, women are born with breasts. If you’re going to charge them for going not wearing clothes in their own homes, then you’re essentially charging them for having breasts.

Law: Yup

Because her stepchildren were present at the time, Buchanan was later charged with a misdemeanor that could force her to register as a sex offender.

“It was in the privacy of my own home. My husband was right next to me in the exact same manner, so I’m being prosecuted for it,” Buchanan said.

Her lawyers, however, are fighting the charges, asking the judge to strike down the law banning toplessness for women.

“When you look at this statute… this part of a woman is found inherently obscene, and this part of a man isn’t, and that really sets up an unequal, unfair dichotomy,” Leah Farrell, Buchanan’s attorney, said.

The woman is now facing three counts of lewdness in front of a child. The judge is expected to rule in a couple of months.

That’s insane.

Before you turn to your friend, laugh haughtily, and say America, amiright? You should know that there’s a similar law in Singapore.

Illegal to be naked at home

Yes, according to The Straits Times, it is actually illegal to be naked in your own home in Singapore.

There is a caveat, however. You may be in your own home but you cannot be naked while being exposed to public view.

If you are found guilty of this offence, you could even be sentenced to prison for a term not exceeding three months.

Woah.

And if you think that this one of those laws that exist only on paper but are not enforced, think again.

In August 2009, taxi driver Chua Hock Hin was fined $2,600 for being naked in his own flat in clear view of his neighbours.

So, if you secretly like to dance naked to ABBA songs with the windows open, it might be a good idea to draw your curtains or put some clothes on next time.
