Remember cutie Dawn Yeoh? You won’t believe what she’s up to now

Do you remember Dawn Yeoh? You would have thought that this innocent and soft-spoken actress will fade into anonymity after she left Singapore’s showbiz in 2009 when her contract with MediaCorp ended, didn’t you?

Well, if you’ve thought that way, we don’t blame you, because we also haven’t heard much from her nowadays, but here’s what she’s been up to since then.

Hidden beneath that soft-spoken attitude of hers, is a burning ambition to succeed. She is looking to break into the Taiwan showbiz together with fellow Singaporean actress Cheryl Wee and singer Nat Ho, and eventually, into the Hong Kong and China market from there.

In an interview with Straits Times last year, Yeoh mentioned that she had initially planned to manage her career by herself in Taiwan after the entire debacle behind her less than amicable split from her former Japanese manager, but her long-time friend and celebrity hairstylist David Gan hooked her up with Taiwanese management agency, Catwalk which she managed to get a contract with.

As opposed to her almost quiet existence for the past few years, be prepared to catch her more often on television in 118, the long-running television series on Channel 8 and time-travelling drama Echoes of Time on StarHub TV.

Be prepared to catch her on Cresendo too, where she received a notice at the last minute to replace local actress Mindee Ong in the role of Fang Xin Yi.

When she was interviewed by Toggle, Yeoh has also mentioned that she would like to enter the music scene as well. She felt that it was a pity that she wasn’t allowed to show off her vocals on the drama, but she has approached her management company, Catwalk, to explore the possibility of her becoming a singer, and if possible, a singer-songwriter.

Actress, musician, are you excited, like us, to see what else this boisterous, sweet and talented artiste has to show to us?
