If you thought the Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China and the Deopokhari Festival in Nepal were bad enough, this story of a man who filmed himself brutally torturing and destroying live dogs and cats will enrage you.
Recently, a Vietnamese dog butcher uploaded a video of himself dragging dogs and cats out of their cages by their throats and savagely beating them with a wooden bat. After beating them for a good amount of time and hearing their screams and cries, the man bites off a chunk of a dog’s ear and grabs a bladed weapon to slit their throats open, leaving them to bleed to death from their wounds. As though that wasn’t enough, he collects the animals’ blood in a bowl and proceeds to drink from it. The creepy thing was that he did all of the above while smiling.
Online petitions have been started around the world with the most notable one created by a research professor from the United States that has already garnered the signatures of some 7,000 people. According to the petition, this man publicly boasts about his inhumane acts on Facebook and vows to do the same thing to anybody who would confront him regarding his behaviour.
At the moment, there are no policies or legislations that prohibits the torture of animals in Vietnam. However, there are various organisations in the country that are looking to change this. There are some individuals state that this is the worst and most barbaric case of animal cruelty that they have witnessed. What do you think?
