Johor Bahru is a popular destination for Singaporeans these days and who can blame them if they decide to take advantage of the favourable exchange rate? To sweeten the deal, there’s even the Legoland theme park and Johor Premium Outlets shopping centre. You’ll definitely spend more than a day there and this is where budget accommodation comes in. The less you spend on a hotel, the more you have for that new coat or tie, but that doesn’t mean that you have to sleep in the slums.
Tune Hotel Danga Bay
Located 20 minutes away from Legoland and Johor Premium Outlets, this hotel is one for families or for shopaholics. There are even daily shuttle transfers to Universal Studios Singapore and Resorts World Sentosa but that’s more for the Malaysian tourists rather than Singaporeans. Rooms start as low as S$30/night and considering you won’t spend much time in the hotel anyway, that’s a steal.
