1. The Sushi Bar

What was once a hidden gem in the youth-centric mall is now one of the best value-for-money sushi restaurants in town. Do come here early or be prepared to queue…or both, if you happen to dine here on days where the restaurant is especially crowded.

It’s even lauded as the ‘Tim Ho Wan’ of sushi here in Singapore. Who says you need to drop a bomb to enjoy that wonderful piece of fatty tuna sashimi?

2. Brotzeit German Bier Bar and Restaurant

The constant walking and stair-climbing will work up and appetite and this is where Brotzeit at 313 Somerset steps in. The signature pork knuckle will satisfy any big eater and don’t let the ‘for two’ on the dish’s description fool you. It can easily feed three adults if you order beers and other side dishes along with it.

3. Supply & Demand

Tucked away in a corner of the new Orchard Gateway mall, Supply & Demand is a great place to get away from the crowd and enjoy a nice slice of pizza or delectable plate of pasta. Do order the truffle fries but prepare a box of mints after your meal. A whole head of garlic is included and with shaved Parmesan cheese showered on the fries, you’ll need the mints.

4. 49 Seats

If you’ve been seeing pictures on Instagram or Facebook of cheese fries that put KFC’s version to shame, this is probably the place. The casual dining establishment serves great entrees as well. Its seafood Tom Yum pasta will have you licking the plate clean and ordering another portion.

5. Saveur Art

The high-class counterpart to budget French restaurant Saveur is appropriately located in ION Orchard shopping mall. Don’t worry, you won’t be parting with an arm and leg when you dine there. Prices are still reasonable and the décor will have you wondering whether you’re looking at the right restaurant’s menu.

6. Kanshoku Ramen Bar

Think French-influenced Japanese cuisine. Lovers of truffle and ramen will love this: Kanshoku Ramen Bar’s Truffle Ramen is a perfect marriage between two ingredients that just fit so perfectly together, and if you think they’re going to skimp on the amount of truffle because it’s expensive, think again.
