10 insanely creative photoshoot concept of S’poreans that make you go, “Wah! Like that also can.”

It seems like Singaporeans are getting more and more creative, to the point that wedding photoshoots are no longer your typical glam “staring into each others’ eyes” kind of shots.

Maple story
I am not even kidding. One couple decided to do a Maple Story themed wedding where they had the characters added in their photographs. If you take a look at their photos, their idea is actually pretty interesting. Not only is it cute, the digital imaging on the photos is so good it looks real. Definitely a theme to consider for gaming couples.

Soccer
This one is my personal favourite. A Liverpool vs Manchester United Soccer theme wedding is a dream come true. Having the bridesmaids and bridegrooms decked out in jerseys and having the photoshoot in the field is an idea that is really creative. Another couple had a similar idea, but they took it even further where the bride wore a jersey over her dress and put on a veil while the guy was decked out in a soccer attire. Wow!

Old-school
Most of you would miss the olden times where life was a lot simpler. It is a place filled with memories and that makes it a great location for a wedding photoshoot. A simple yet creative idea, this couple decided to take their wedding photos at playgrounds, rickshaws and old buildings. This certainly adds a flavour to the photos and gives off a beautiful vibe.

Secondary school
Secondary schools hold a lot of good and bad times for us. However, they also hold many memories and this is probably why a number of couples have a school-themed wedding. One such couple not only wore school uniforms, all their guests turned up in school uniforms too! I am pretty sure this would have invited a lot of weird stares but it is an interesting idea nonetheless. Their photoshoot even required the guys to dress as “bengs” and the girls as aunties. Wacky but cool!

Holi
This one results in beautiful photos because of the colours involved. While most of us would shun the idea of getting dirty during a day where you are supposed to be glam, one couple did not give a hoot. Their unconventional photoshoot involved them throwing coloured powder at each other. The best part? Not only did the photos turn out beautiful, so did they.

Star Wars
The force is strong with this one. One couple, sorry, two Jedis, decided to get married and it resulted in a battle. A very cute and well-done photo shoot, the couple fought with lightsabers on a train track. The graphics were top-notch too. It is definitely a perfect idea for fans of Star Wars and also for anyone who wants a badass wedding photoshoot.

University
The place where most of us find love. There’s no question then as to why universities are a popular choice for wedding photoshoots. Two such lovebirds who met in the Nanyang Business School held their photoshoot in Nanyang Technological University. They took their photos in the library, the spiral stairs and other places that held many memories for them. Definitely a sweet story, it can be an idea for all the couples who met in university.

Coffin

Uh huh, creepy but legit. The couple who did this work in the funeral trade and as they were very passionate and serious about what they do, they decided to put in place a coffin-themed wedding. So yes, gloomy photos with coffins and serious faces were their choice. Believe it or not, the photos actually turned out to be nice in a grimm tales kind of way. So if any have a morbid sense of humour, this is an idea worth looking into.

Playing with death

For all you daredevils, you guys can follow one couple’s idea of abseiling and being suspended in the air while being photographed. Sounds crazy right? However, this couple has a completed abseiling proficiency courses certified by the Singapore Mountaineering Federation and had abseiled at the location about 10 times before the shoot. Thus, although it was dangerous, this couple had the necessary experience to prevent anything disastrous from happening. Phew! Their photos still give me a panic attack though.

Superhero

Finally, one that is not too crazy. A few Singaporean couples have brought out their inner superhero by dressing up as Batman and Superman. My favourite is the batman one because Catwoman’s outfit is on point. Some of them even had the groomsmen to be dressed as superheroes! I am sure this is a theme both the ladies and the men would enjoy so I will be expecting to see more of such themes being used.
