10 super-cool Snapchat tricks for iPhone and Android you die-die-must-know

It feels like twitter all again with the text limit on Snapchat isn’t it? Many of us have been using Snapchat but there are tons of tricks that you haven’t heard of! Here are 10 super cool Snapchat tricks you have to know if you’re using it – either to boast it to your friends or to make your snaps cooler.

Video chat
Do you know that you’re able to do live video chats on Snapchat? As most of you know, when you’re on the chat, the camera icon will turn blue when your friend is online. Hold the camera button and you’ll see yourself go “live.” Drag the image which popped out to the bottom, and you will be able to video chat with your friend. Cool, right! But if you’ve updated your app, you should be able to video chat by simply clicking on the video icon.

Bypass text maximum
Open up the Notes app and enter at least 2 spaces. Copy and paste selected empty “space” in your Snapchat textbox. Congrats, you can now read essays on Snapchat by your friends!

Use emojis as a filter
As if the Snapchat filters aren’t enough, you can use emojis as a filter. Tap on the sticker icon for emojis, pick one and enlarge it such that the edges of the emoji colour your picture. You can have pink, yellow or blue filters on your selfies depending on the emoji you chose!

Share photos with your friends privately
Swipe left to the receiver you would like to send to, and tap on the camera icon. Choose a photo from your gallery by tapping on the right bottom icon. And you can edit your past photos with captions this way, by loading those past photos from your gallery and sort of importing to Snapchat to edit with captions and emojis before you download and save it to your phone.

Use multiple filters
After you’ve picked your filter, hold on the screen with one finger. Continue swiping left or right with your other finger and you can successfully add several filters to your selfie.

Zoom in by sliding up, not pinching in
Snapchatting and zooming in feels troublesome as you can’t do it one hand. It feels clumsy when you have to pinch to scale the screen to zoom in. Another alternative is to push up with one finger while Snapchatting. It’s easier and frankly, you don’t look as stupid.

Play music in your Snaps
Go to your music player – Itunes or Spotify. Play the desired part of your music and open up Snapchat. You can dance to your music and send it to your friends.

Switch between the cameras
To switch between a front-facing to rear-facing camera, we often go to the trouble of tapping on the camera icon on the top right corner. You can easily do this by double tapping on the screen while recording and your camera view will change between the two.

When you’re done typing in the text box, click on the big ‘T’ again. You can select your desired colours from the colour palette. You can also highlight each word and change it to different colours. So now you can have multi-coloured words.
