Are you someone who is permanently late to an appointment or work, be it for professional meetups or personal meetups with friends?

Are you disliked by your colleagues or friends because you’re always late, no matter how much time they give you to prepare and come out?

Well, if you’re the kind who your friends will tell you to meet at 6 pm when the original meet up time is 7, then you’ll really need to read this article because it is all about you.

Not much study has been done on people who are late, but it seems to indicate that if you’re late, you’re actually an optimistic person.

Wait-what?! Yes, you got that right. If you’re always late, you’re likely to be optimistic, laid-back and easy-going.

Now, before you get all crazy on me, allow me to elaborate a little bit.

Based on a Study That Shows How People Look at Time

According to a study done on people who’s always late, people who are late are those belonging to the Type B personality, meaning more laid-back and easygoing.

It seems that if you have a penchant for being late, it’s because of the way you are as a person. And no, you’re not lazy or a bum, but you have a positive outlook on life. You hope you can fit in more activities before going to work, and you are likelier to stop and smell the roses before moving off again.

And this is something punctual people can actually learn from you. Because you seem to be more optimistic than your “on-time” counterparts, you have a stronger immune system, reduced stress level and a decrease in risk of getting cardiovascular diseases.

In fact, you’re said to not sweat the small stuff and instead, tend to focus on the big picture instead. This means you’ll have greater personal success and see the future as an infinite source of possibilities instead of obstacles.

Interestingly, you look at one minute as 77 seconds, compared to people who are often on time or early (who looks at one minute as 58 seconds, which is closer to reality).

So, the next time your friend complains that you’re always late for meetups, just show him this article and tell him to chill leh, relax bro!

But of course, don’t do this to your boss lah. We won’t guarantee that you’ll still have the job after showing this to him or her.
