I kid you not. It’s October now, not April, so we’re celebrating Halloween instead of April’s Fool.

Now, read on (especially you girls who could well be screaming at this moment).

That’s right; prizes worth a whopping $5,000 are just waiting to be won, and all you have to do is dress up in your favourite Halloween costume and strut your stuff on the stage.

Oh, and did I mention? Registration and entry is FREE.

If you’re like ‘meh’, either because you think you’re a prodigy at it and others should have a chance, or you’re a total costume klutz and think you’re making a wasted trip there…

How about a GOODIE BAG filled with VOUCHERS from your favourite establishments?

If you’re part of the first 300 participants to register on site, you get a goodie bag worth more than $50 that’s packed with vouchers from Swensen’s, Pet Lovers Centre and Shaw Theatres!

Look, if I had one shot, one opportunity, I would definitely go for the goodie bag.

Swensen’s and Shaw Theatres vouchers? That’s a free dinner and movie!

(And if you’re not aware, that’s the proven formula for a perfect date night. Confirm plus chop. Take it from a guy who’s been out on a few failed dates.)

For those with pets, the Pet Lovers Centre voucher would get your furry one’s care expenses subsidized!

Meowsolutely perfect.

Still need further persuasion?

At the event, you get to meet local Youtube sensation…

Jianhao Tan!

He will be there as a guest judge that day, and yes, HE will be the one evaluating your costumes!

And that’s not all; there’s a meet-and-greet session with him too! To make it even sweeter? YOU can take a photograph with the man himself!

Just please don’t make that face at the photo shoot. Whiskers included.

One thing to note: JianHao Tan no longer has that neat white hair. As fans of the YouTube sensation, we understand that he just came back from reservist, so his hair is now…well, quite “reservist”.

I don’t know about you, but that makes the “local” in the “local YouTube sensation” so much more local. Want to see how he looks like now? Come on down then!

But before you start shouting at your parents to let you go, hold on. There’s a small catch: you’re only eligible for the session IF you’re a participant of the Spooky Masquerade contest.

BUT it’s worth it. You get to have fun AND meet Jianhao. Besides, who knows? You might just snag that first prize, and walk away with the golden vouchers in your pocket!

Life can’t possibly get any better than that!

By now, I know you’re just dying to know more about the details.

So I will stop rambling…

And let’s head into the rules and regulations!

What do I have to do?

Just design your own costume, bring it to the event place and show the world your masterpiece! Or you can buy your costume as well. Just be creative!

How do I register?

If you’ve yet to sign up, you can do so at the B2 Information Counter or via online at http://bit.ly/masqueradecontest .
